Thursday, Simon's neurology nurse called to find out how things were going. I told they had not improved and may be a little worse. She said, let's get him in for a 24 hour EEG. She arranged for that and gave us an admission for 3 days (which we thankfully didn't need).
Simon was hooked up for about 30 hours (I stayed at the hospital with him) and I think we saw close to 20 seizures, including the nighttime sleeping hours. I didn't know he was having that many! The neuros on call and the doctor reading the EEG decided to increase the Topamax dosage Si was on. This coupled with the already planned Lamictal dose. Si was very tired on Saturday and Sunday but thankfully was awake this morning when I went to get him up. Awake but in a seizure. We're going to give the meds until about Thursday and then call in with an update. Sometime next week he may go back for a shorter (probably 6 hour) EEG.
If the meds don't work, I'm not sure the next step. Maybe a totally different medication.
I had so many people praying for us and wishing us well. Thank you all. Your love carries me through.
